About us
Fenua Holidays is a booking platform born in French Polynesia. Accommodation and activities across all five archipelagos (Society, Tuamotu, Marquesas, Austral, Gambier), booked directly, with a team that lives here. The agility of a platform. The soul of the fenua.
A story that begins on the fenua
Renaud Coquille was born in Papeete. Forty years in Polynesian tourism: hotel manager in Manihi, in Nuku Hiva and in Huahine, then within a major Polynesian travel group. From the Tuamotu to the Marquesas, always the same observation.
Travellers dream of our islands. Providers do remarkable work. And yet, three online bookings out of four are made on platforms based on the other side of the world, which can't tell Bora Bora from Rurutu.
Nobody took anything from us. We had simply left the space empty. Fenua Holidays was born from that realisation: a platform from here had to exist, built by people who know the ground. Uncertain flight connections, family guesthouses with no marketing team, islands where the internet arrives when it feels like it.
Our mission
To give providers across the five archipelagos the showcase their work deserves, and travellers direct access to what the big platforms never show.
A family guesthouse in Fakarava, a dive club in Rangiroa, a guide in Nuku Hiva: each one carries a story, and that story doesn't fit in a standardised listing. We take the time to tell it.
And because we are a Polynesian company, the commission stays on the fenua. It pays for a local team, human support even from the Gambier, and a model that gives back to the territory.
What makes us different
We are not just one more competitor. The big international platforms do their job well; it's simply that none of them was designed for French Polynesia.
Fenua Holidays combines what travellers expect from a platform: online booking, secure payment, real-time availability. And what only a local agency can do: put together a trip across several islands, know each provider personally, deal with the unexpected from the same time zone as your stay.
Our travel assistant, Tikibot, is steeped in Polynesian culture and geography. It doesn't recite a brochure: it knows the fenua.
The solidarity credit
With every booking, Fenua Holidays takes a solidarity credit from its own margin, which we call the Mana Coin, and gives it to the traveller. At the end of their stay, they choose the local association to donate it to: culture, environment, social projects.
It costs the traveller nothing, and the provider nothing. It is our share, redistributed. The traveller is no longer just a visitor: they become a player in local life. And when a project they supported is completed, we send them photos. The connection doesn't end at the airport.
Pearls, not stars
On Fenua Holidays, travellers don't give stars. They give pearls.
The Tahitian pearl is born in our lagoons, and it can't be manufactured: it is cultivated. It takes an oyster, a precise gesture, then months of patience before discovering what the nacre has decided. No two are alike. That is exactly our idea of a successful travel experience: prepared with care, matured over time, unique.
Five pearls means a rare experience. A single one means we have work to do. Either way, the review comes from a traveller who actually booked: that is the rule.
The pae'ore, our signature
Our logo is built on the pae'ore, the traditional Polynesian weaving: connection, encounter, culture. Hidden in its lines are the F of Fenua Holidays, a human figure (the provider and the traveller, equals), a step taken, and a star for navigation. Nothing in it is decorative: it is the very structure of what we are building.
The team
Fenua Holidays is a deliberately small company, founded and run from Punaauia by Renaud Coquille. Around him, a small team for operations and provider relations, and trusted partners for platform development and visual identity.
No posed photos here. What we want to show are the islands, and the people who bring them to life.

Frequently asked questions
What is Fenua Holidays?
Fenua Holidays is a Polynesian travel platform founded by Renaud Coquille, who was born in French Polynesia and has forty years of experience in local tourism across the five archipelagos. Combining the agility of digital platforms with the expertise of a local agency, it connects travellers from around the world with tourism providers in French Polynesia: accommodation and activities, from the Tuamotu to the Marquesas. Every booking keeps the commission in the territory and feeds the Mana Coin, a solidarity credit donated to local projects chosen by the travellers themselves.
Is Fenua Holidays really a local company?
Yes. Fenua Holidays is a company under Polynesian law, headquartered in Punaauia (Tahiti), founded by a Polynesian born in Papeete, and holds a tourism licence issued by French Polynesia. The team lives and works in French Polynesia.
What is the solidarity credit?
With every booking, Fenua Holidays gives the traveller a solidarity credit funded from its own margin. At the end of their stay, the traveller donates it to a local association of their choice. It costs neither the traveller nor the provider anything.
Why pearls rather than stars?
Because the pearl was born in the lagoons of French Polynesia. It is cultivated with patience and no two are alike, just like a successful travel experience. Traveller reviews are therefore expressed in pearls, from one (disappointing) to five (a rare experience).
Which islands can I book on Fenua Holidays?
The five archipelagos of French Polynesia: the Society Islands (Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea…), the Tuamotu (Rangiroa, Fakarava, Tikehau…), the Marquesas (Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa…), the Austral Islands (Rurutu, Tubuai…) and the Gambier (Mangareva). Including islands the big platforms don't go to.
